Did you know that nearly half of domestic violence victims delay leaving because they don’t want to leave their pets behind, yet only 10% of domestic violence shelters accept pets? The Purple Leash Project is working to change that. The initiative was born out of Purina’s mission to bring and keep pets and people together and RedRover’s mission to bring animals and their owners from crisis to care.
In honor of National Pet Month this May, Purina and their family of brands are working to create more pet friendly domestic violence shelters across the country. Their goal is to reach a $1M in support of the Purple Leash Project
so that pets and people can stay together.
