Winter Favorite Ground Chicken Chili

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Ground Chicken Breast    
  • 1 medium onion, diced    
  • 3 cloves of garlic minced    
  • 1 28 oz can of tomatoes, diced or whole crushed by hand    
  • 6 oz can of tomato sauce    
  • 1 cup of water    
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon Chili Powder    
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cumin    
  • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder    
  • Salt and pepper to taste    
  • Cayenne pepper to taste    
  • Basil for garnish

Directions

  1. In a pot on medium heat, brown the ground chicken, crumbling as it cooks. 
  2. Add in the onions and garlic and cook until all meat is done & the onions turn soft. 
  3. Add salt, pepper & cayenne to season the mixture. 
  4. Turn the heat to low & add the following ingredients. 
  5. Let the mixture simmer for 30-35 minutes, tasting & stirring on occasion. 
  6. Add seasoning to your liking & water if the chili is too thick. 
  7. Serve with sour cream and cheese (optional) & garnish with basil.
