The Best Braised Pork Spare Ribs

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup fajita seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 racks pork spareribs, fat trimmed
  • 1 cup beer
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon prepared brown mustard

Directions

  1. Mix all dry seasonings together in a small bowl.  Rub the mixture on both sides of the ribs.  Place them in a pan covered and let sit overnight.
  2. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees.
  3. Take all remaining ingredients & whisk together in a medium sized bowl. 
  4. Place your ribs into foil(each rack separately), making a pocket and leaving one side open.  Add in the liquid mixture and fold to seal the final side of the pocket.  Place the wrapped ribs back into their baking dish.
  5. Cook in the oven for 3.5-4 hours.  Remove from oven and pour remaining liquid into a saucepan.
  6. Simmer the sauce until it begins to thicken.  Brush this onto the ribs.
  7. Change your oven to broil & move the rack up to about 6 inches from the heat.
  8. Cook uncovered for about 5 minutes and the sauce starts to caramelize.
