Hearty Beef Stew

  • 6 onions, chopped        
  • 1 lb. beef for stew
  • 5 tablespoons butter        
  • 3 cups of cold water        
  • 1 egg yolk        
  • 3 tablespoons flour        
  • 2 cups whole milk        
  • salt        
  • cayenne pepper        
  • 1 cup of grated cheese

  1. Saute your onions, remove from heat & sprinkle flour in the pan while stirring with a wisk.  Add water, stirring & pouring slowly so no clumps form.
  2. Place back on the burner on simmer for 30 minutes while stirring often
  3. Using a food processor, blend small portions at a time, the contents of the pan
  4. Return all to the pan & stir in beef for stew.  Cook until done.
  5. Add milk, egg yolks, & remaining ingredients. 
  6. Cook at higher heat but make sure you are not letting boil.
  7. Grate cheese on top. 
  8. Enjoy!
