In an effort to constantly improve our environmental footprint & the world around us, Marc's works hard to advance effective Green Living business practices in our daily operations.  We want to meet present needs without compromising the ability of future generationsto meet their needs.  This sustainability will allow us to create and maintain the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony as well askeep our prices low by working efficiently.  In addition to our resolution to recycle, reduce and reuse we are also participating in other fundamental programs and practices to promote smart living.  Some current concepts and tools we are utilizing to help in our green efforts are:
  • In 2011, Marc's rented 190,000 pallets to help reduce the amount of wood that would go to the landfill
  • We improved our fuel economy by 15% with a new tractor fleet
  • Marc's improved our lift trucks efficiency by 30% by using the brake system to generate power
  • We switched our warehouse lights from sodium to Fluorescent which is 48% more efficient & last 20% longer
  • We started using high efficiency battery chargers that use less electricity and lengthen battery life
  • Marc's is saving electricity & trees by using electronic means instead of paper for faxes and picking product
  • Marc's sold hundreds of thousands of reusable shopping bags under cost to reduce the use of plastic bags
